The Chronicles of Christmas: Truth of the Wardrobe

Posted by Matt Tuttle On December - 6 - 2009

Is Jesus a liar, a lunatic, or Lord?

In C.S. Lewis’ book “The Chronicles of Narnia” the character Lucy is accused of being a liar when returning from the land of Narnia. Lucy is the child who always tells the truth and it is later found that Edmund is the real liar. Pastor Mark takes this further in exploring the possibility that Jesus may be a liar, a lunatic, or Lord. Listen to his message and come to your own conclusion.

but believed that he was
2. Liar: Jesus did not believe he
was God, but spoke as if he did
3. Lord, Jesus is God
From these premises, it is
argued..
If not God, Jesus is either not
great or not moral.

Premises: Jesus claimed to be God

One of the following must be true:

  1. Lunatic: Jesus was not God, but believed that he was
  2. Liar: Jesus did not believe he was God, but spoke as if he did
  3. Lord: Jesus is God

From these premises, it is argued..

If he is not God, Jesus is either not great or not moral.
